Is there really a trial plan?

Yes — the Trial plan includes 14 days of full access. Build, backtest, and paper-trade up to 3 bots, with all AI strategies and options spreads. No credit card required. Upgrade to a paid plan when you want more AI credits or live Alpaca trading.

What's the difference between paper and live trading?

Paper trading uses Alpaca's simulated funds with real market data — perfect for learning a strategy without risk. Live trading uses real money in your Alpaca account. Live trading is opt-in per bot and only available on Power and Elite.

How many bots can I run?

Alpaca allows up to 3 paper accounts and 1 live account per person. Free and Pro let you use all 3 paper bots. Power and Elite add the live bot for a total of 4.

What is a backtest?

Backtesting runs your strategy against historical market data. All plans — including Free — get unlimited backtests.

What strategies can I build?

All plans include the full Strategy Builder: AI-generated strategies, Momentum Calls, Credit Spreads (BCS / BPS), and Combined presets. Live execution of those strategies is gated to Power and Elite.

What is an 'engine run'?

During market hours the engine reads market data on a fixed cadence and decides whether each of your bots should buy, hold, or sell. Power and Elite get priority queue at market open.

What are AI credits?

AI credits power the LLM-backed features (strategy generation, trade analysis, deep-dive). Trial: 50. Pro: 200/mo. Power: 500/mo. Elite: 1,500/mo.

Do I need a real brokerage account?

You need a free Alpaca account — paper for Free and Pro, paper + live for Power and Elite. Alpaca's paper account opens in minutes with no funding.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes — cancel from settings. You keep access through the end of the current billing period.
